Public build

Monzo Spend Automation

Credit card bills shouldn't be a monthly surprise. This system syncs card spending through Open Banking every day, logs it to a spreadsheet you own, and moves the right amount into a Monzo pot, so the bill is quietly covered in the background. No budgeting apps. No manual reconciliation. No discipline required.

What it does

Every card, covered daily, hands off.

Syncs settled credit card transactions every day via Open Banking

Logs every transaction into a Google Sheet you own

Calculates net spend, refunds included

Deposits or withdraws the difference to a Monzo pot automatically

Sends a Telegram message confirming each run

Bill arrives already covered, no end-of-month scramble

How it's built
n8n workflow engine

The orchestrator. Runs on your own instance, cloud or self-hosted, so the automation and the data stay yours.

TrueLayer Open Banking

Reads settled transactions from your credit cards, Amex, Barclaycard and others, through the UK's regulated Open Banking rails.

Monzo

The pot is the budget. The system deposits or withdraws daily so the balance always matches what you owe.

Google Sheets + Telegram

A ledger and dashboard you own, plus a notification per run, so the system is never a black box.

Why it exists

The problem it solves.

If you spend on credit cards, the month ends the same way every time: a bill you have to check against your account, money you have to move, and the nagging question of whether you actually had it covered. Budgeting apps don't fix this. They show you the problem and leave the discipline to you.

The fix isn't another dashboard. It's a system that moves the money itself, every day, in amounts that match what you actually spent, including refunds. By the time the bill lands, the pot already holds it.

What we shipped
Two production workflows

One syncs and reconciles transactions, one manages the pot. Small parts, each doing a single job, so a failure in one never silently breaks the other.

A dashboard with history

Every transaction and every pot movement logged to a Google Sheets dashboard, with net-spend calculations that include refunds.

A setup guide anyone can follow

Step-by-step Notion guide that takes a non-developer from zero to a running system on their own n8n instance.

Productised and sold publicly

Packaged on Gumroad as a complete build for UK Monzo users. Real customers run this on their own accounts.

Outcomes

What changed once it was live.

Personal finance admin cut to about 15 minutes a week.

Credit card bills covered before they arrive, every month, without thinking about it.

The whole system runs on the owner's own accounts and instance. Nothing rented from us, no lock-in.

Sold publicly as a productised build, so the claims on this page are checkable.

What this means for you

Same thinking, applied to your business.

Swap card transactions for enquiries, invoices or bookings and this is exactly what we build for businesses: a small, reliable workflow that watches a feed of events, does the arithmetic, moves the right thing to the right place, and tells you it ran. The value isn't the dashboard. It's that the job is simply done.

This build is public because it's the cleanest possible proof. You can buy it, run it on your own accounts, and judge the workmanship before you ever pay us for client work.

Send us one repetitive job.

We reply in 48 hours with a fix, a price, and a date.
